When I'm asked tomorrow "What your complaints about this first essay?"

Would it be wrong to say that I didn't like the fact we had to use Times New Roman?

Nail polish rant...

Sometimes I hate 3-free polishes. While I appreciate the thought behind them, sometimes the formula can be rather shitty.

I did my nails at noonish. Threw my very nice topcoat on them, and they were all good to go.

12 hours later I'm getting out of the shower and I notice this random ass dent/chip in my nail. It wasn't there before. And some areas were faded on a couple nails. This is after two coats and a topcoat. o.o

I understand tip wear. But a random chip that didn't look like a normal chip in the middle of my nail? And on my ring finger at that...

Ugh.

And to share what I'm wearing today? Jana by Zoya.

(Not my pic obviously)

Jana.

I grabbed this color during the last Zoya promo. Get two polishes for free and just pay shipping. I couldn't pass that up. I was iffy on how it would look on my nails after seeing it in the bottle. But now that it's on, it's fab.

Are you really that self-centered and selfish?

Yeah. I thought so bitch. :)

Hate to break it to you, but the world doesn't revolve around your skank ass.

Any questions now? Didn't think so.

If you think this is about you, well then maybe you need to step back and examine your actions. K?

So the debate that I had with my last loan disbursement was to get a certain t-shirt. My boyfriend said it was inappropriate for the area we live in and it would be taken the wrong way.

What do you think?

They also did the same for my nap.

Would it be rude to go upstairs to inform my neighbor that my ceiling is, in fact, not a trampoline?

Or is blasting the 1812 Overture a good warning?

Because I'm ok with that.

blasting is more fun, then again going up is fun too, wearing a suit like you saw in the 80's for workout places, you know the kind all flurescents and scary... so you can ask them if you can play on their trampoline too

Sometimes I wish I could really draw. Like super awesome detailed pencil drawings.

I want to place the images and colors that I hear from music on paper.

If you let your mind be free, music can paint the most beautiful pictures. And not from the words.

Fun fact: Today was Edgar Allen Poe's birthday.

Another fun fact: He was mentally disturbed, a great writer, and my ancestor.

We talked about him in English class and read a few of his poems.

Oh! And he used to make up words. :D

They are out of date before they are even printed though! I did have a set but they never got used except as tables and I didn't really have the space for them.

I like to use source websites when I can but sometimes the least biased information is on Wiki.

So. I'm on a roll today with posts it seems.

I was thinking, I don't talk about nail polish enough here.

Time to change that!

Today I decided to try a color that's been in the box since I got back from Florida. It is Warm and Fozzie by OPI. It was actually one of those colors I wasn't excited about. I ended up getting a mini pack and it came in it.

Browns/golds tend to be either really bad or really awesome on me. Oddly, this one is really nice.

It has enough shimmer that it makes me want to throw a coat of matte top coat on it and call it good.

Pinks seem to be the same way with me. I haven't met a red that didn't look good on me. I have met one red that I didn't care for. (Do you think I'm Tex-y by OPI)

But I can rock some red and some green polish like a pro.

And, if you ARE into polish like I am? A great vampy purpleyred is Black Cherry Chutney by OPI. It's just gorgeous. My favorite red though? Ruby Pumps by China Glaze.

Favorite green? Midori by Zoya

Favorite purple? Grape Set Match by OPI and Vintage Violet by Finger Paints are tied. This may change when my Zoya purchase gets here next week.

I don't have a favorite blue. The search continues :D

I'm not usually one to discuss some really serious topics, but reading this blog the past few days has put a few questions in my head.

http://raisingmyrainbow.com

It's a blog about a mother's trials raising her gender non-conforming son. In short, she raises her son to be who he wants to be. In this case, he wants to play with barbies.

I think it's a great thing to see a mother doing this. It allows freedom and expression in the best way possible. Is it wrong she encourages it? Not one bit.

It raises a question in my mind, if you were to encounter this as a parent (your child being like this) how would you handle it? I know I'd embrace it and let the little one do what they want. But what would the rest of the world do?

It does open the door to bullies and other nasty things. As a parent, how would you try to protect your young one from that, while still allowing them to be who they are?

Just a lot of questions from me. I'm not a parent, so I can only imagine the trials.

That is a great question... I use to play with transformers and G I Joes... It was socially acceptable for girls to be tomboy ish when I was growing up but boy it certainly was not the flip side case at all... I had a lil boy fried who secretly played barbies with me... he was cool. Now that I am a parent of two boys I face all kinds of trials with bullies n such and they don't play barbies... I can only imagine what they would have to endure if they did. Would I encourage it if they were into it? I would like to think I would, though I would worry to death the hell they would get for it and unfortunately there are times when you cannot be there to protect them :(

I would like, also, to think I would allow them to play with whichever toys they enjoyed. I would definitely, though, try to gently make them aware that society sees certain things in certain ways, and that their choices may be challenged by their peers, so the child was at least aware. Other children can be assholes.

Hell, myself, as a child, I questioned everything having to do with religion. My mother took me to different churches, synagogues, mosques, bought me books, arranged appointments with different clergy, etc. I think, for my honest (but probably extremely impertinent) questions, I have been slapped by more members of the clergy than I can count.

Of course, make your own choices - but be aware how other members of society may view (however slantedly, in whatever direction) those choices.
